Matt Peters
Bantam AA

Originally from Erie, PA Coach Peters played youth hockey for the Erie Lions. He Played High School hockey for the McDowell Trojans and finished his playing career at Edinboro University. Matt has been coaching for Parma since 2013 and credits his playing and coaching career to the many great coaches he has played for which he continues to emulate today, hoping that he that he is able to pass on that love for the game as they did for him. Coach Peters currently coaches with our Bantam team, Squirt 2 team as well as the Barons 10u Girls Elite team.
Professionally Matt works for Cleveland Guardians Baseball Operations as the Head of Data Engineering and Platform Systems. Matt along with his wife Amber have four children, in which all of them have played or are currently playing for the Parma Flyers.

Brad Bucci

Brad has coached 20+ years between travel hockey and Parma the last 7 years.
Brad played hockey from learn to skate to Pee Wee at PHA and played 4 years at Padua.
Brad has 3 children in the Parma Program - Jackson/PW, Emma/SQ, and Alyssa/ Mini Mite.
Brad is the current Hockey Director and been a board member and on the PHA Hockey Committee for 3 years.

Steve Greenhill
Peewee A3

Steve has lived in the Parma area his whole life, played at Forrestwood for Parma Hockey when he was a kid, and played High School for Parma Sr. High. Coach Greenhill has a level 4 coaching certification and has coached over 30 years at every level from mini mites to high school, most of which were right here in Parma.
In addition to his contribution as a coach Steve also previously served as our association’s President for 8 years. He is a member of Parma Hockey’s Hall of Fame, Husband, and father of three, one of whom played in Parma from Mini Mites all the way through Bantam. When asked why Parma, he simply said this is where I played as a kid and I love giving back.

Mike Coyne

Coach Coyne has a long history with Parma Hockey, this is the place he learned to ice skate. Mike started as a mini mite in 1984 and played with Parma Hockey until 1997, after which he spent two years from 1997-1999 playing with Brooklyn as a High School Midget and team Captain. After High School he took a break from playing hockey while attending Kent State University where he earned his undergraduate. Mike made his return to hockey, playing men’s league again about 10 years ago. Coyne is a member of Hockey Players in Business-Cleveland Chapter which is an organization geared towards raising money for Youth Hockey, as well as an active Board Member for United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland.
Coach Coyne has been very active in the program over the last 6 years holding various coaching positions. Mike currently has two children in our program, Peyton who currently plays on the Pee Wee 1 team and Brandon is on the Parma Squirt 2 team, which he has the privilege of coaching this season.

Bob Waltzer
Mite Gold

Bob Waltzer is a Level 4 USA hockey coach. He is our Mite ADM Director and Coach of our Mite Gold Team.
Bob grew up in the Cleveland area and played his youth hockey for the Parma Hts. Wings and Brooklyn Sharks. During his High School years, he played 4 years for Padua Franciscan High School, leading the Bruins to a Baron Cup Championship and 2 District Final appearances. He played Midget hockey for the Ohio Prospects.
After High School he attended Bowling Green State University where his love of coaching youth hockey began. At BGSU, he began his hockey coaching career at Bowling Green High School as well as various levels for the BGYHA. He has been coaching various Mite age teams at Parma since 2018.
Bob resides in Brunswick Ohio with his wife and two sons.

Brad Holzinger
Mite Red 1

Brad Holzinger is a Parma native who started his playing career with the Parma Flyers. His favorite memory as a Parma Flyer was winning the Ohio State championship as squirt with his older brother Brian. Brad continued his playing career at Padua Franciscan High School (State Championship), Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings (National Runner-Up), and the Cleveland Junior Barons before attending Bowling Green State University where he was selected Captain of his 1998 team. One of Brad's greatest hockey memories was playing with his brother Brian at Bowling Green State University as a freshman where Brian won the Hobey Baker Award which is the most coveted award in collegiate hockey as the nations top player. After college, Brad continued his hockey journey professionally playing 4 years in the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) where he compiled 175 points. After his playing career, Brad began coaching with the Cleveland Barons AAA program for 5 years helping develop many players who went on to play College and Profeasional hockey. Brad has been working for the past 20 years with Cintas Corporation as an Operations Manager in the Cleveland Market. Brad is now back with the Parma Flyers organization devoting his time on helping and growing the Mite program for the last 4 years. This year, Brad is the Head Coach of Mite Red 1 team as well as an Assistant Coach for the Mite Blue team. Brad and his wife Katie reside in Medina, and have 2 kids, Carter(7) and Alexa (5), who both play in the Parma Mite program.
Mike Scharf
Mite Red 3 | Mite Blue

Coach Mike Scharf is a 37 year hockey veteran and Cleveland native who grew up in the Independence/Seven Hills area, and he currently resides in North Royalton, OH. Mike began his young playing career right here under this very roof of Forestwood ice rink back in 1985 (and yes, Nancy Kappel was the mite Queen Bee back then just as she still sits to this date!).
He continued his youth hockey career in the CSHL, just like the very kids he currently coaches, until moving on up and attending Padua Franciscan High School where he was a 3 year varsity hockey letterman and team captain his senior season. After high school, Mike continued playing at the collegiate level at University of Findlay in Findlay, OH. Coach mike has always loved the game of hockey and was fortunate enough to have played at many levels allowing him to travel throughout the US, Canada and even Europe during his career. His hockey coaching experience also took root at a young age as he began instructing in multiple summer hockey and power skating camps/schools throughout the Cleveland suburban area during his high school and college years.
Coach Mike is currently level 3 USA hockey certified, and has been coaching here for PHA since 2017. Mike is currently the co-ADM director for PHA with his ADM director and partner coach Bob Waltzers. Mike is an orthopedic physical therapist by day as well as a hockey coach by night. He's currently head coaching the Mite 2 red team as well as the Mite 5 blue team this 2022-23 season. He has 2 sons currently playing mite hockey here at PHA: Luca (2014) and Rocco (2017). He is also the father to 2 beautiful daughters: Rosalia and Gianna.
Coach Mike enjoys being around the rink as he not only coaches but continues to play adult league hockey on the regular in his ripe old age. He now takes pride in the opportunity to inspire, encourage and coach the many wonderful kids here at PHA. He feels fortunate to be able to share his hockey knowledge and passion with the next generation!
After all, hockey is all about making friends, making memories and having fun...so let's do just that and have a great season!

Joe has been involved on and off with the Cleveland area hockey family for over 30 years.
He began his playing career right here at Forestwood Ice Rink (as it was called back then), and played his youth hockey for the Flyers of Parma, The Wings of Parma Heights and Cleveland Americans. He played for the Padua Bruins Hockey team in high school and was a part of the 1995 Barron Cup Championship team. After high school Joe began his coaching and officiating career, coaching the Padua J.V. team for 6 years and officiating hockey working his way through the ranks and ultimately officiating junior and college level hockey. During his time at Padua, he was the assistant coach to two J.V. championships and coached or played with many of the dads involved with PHA today. Joe is a teacher for the Parma City School district where he teaches 7th grade STEM classes and also is the Byers Field Manager.
Joe’s wife Sally, is also involved in PHA as the mini mite team manager and can be seen around the rink just as often. She is a principal for the Strongsville City School District.
Joe and Sally have two boys that love hockey. J.R. who plays on the MW3 team and Will, who just began his career in the mini mite program.

Pete Kraguljac
Mighty Mites

Coach Pete Kraguljac is a 37 year hockey veteran and Cleveland native who grew up on the lower west side and currently resides in Parma, OH. Coach Pete spent most of his years in youth hockey playing for North Olmsted before going on to play High School hockey for Olmsted Falls. Pete moved to Phoenix in 2000 to attend Arizona State University where he received a film degree and wrapped up his playing days on their club team (rumor has it that he was not that good, and extremely injury prone).
From 2006 to 2011 Pete ran the mini-mite program in North Olmsted where all three of his children learned to skate before coming to Parma where he has spent past 11 seasons coaching at almost every level we have to offer. His experience is as follows:

During his early years he was responsible for executing the ADM model and running those practices. Back in 2014 he started a program called build the middle where over three seasons he coached seventh and eighth graders with little to no skating experience and prepared them to play High School hockey. Pete is now in his fourth year as our President, in which he served five years as a general board member prior to becoming the Head of Program.
Outside of hockey Pete works as a creative director and engineer for a local software company as well as a freelance photographer. Pete is a single dad with two amazing daughters; Brianna who is currently attending BGSU and hopes to pursue a career in sports journalism, and Kaitlyn who is a senior at Valley Forge who plans on attending college next fall to pursue a career in sports medicine. Pete's son Xander spent 10 seasons wearing the red white and blue for parma and is now a freshman at St. Ignatius where he looks to continue playing as a Wildcat.

If a child can skate, they most likely learned from Ken. Coach Ledford is a member of our Hall of Fame and has been coaching Mini Mites longer than any of our other coaches have been in Parma.
