Games will be played half-ice.

One (1) referee will be on the ice for each game.

Teams

Only registered players on team/association rosters may play.

Unregistered players may NOT be used for any reason.

If players are added during the season, a supplemental roster must be submitted as well.

A team should be composed of nine to thirteen (9-13) skaters and goalie.

Teams must start the game with a minimum four (5) players ie. Four (4) skaters and goalie.

Each team will play with four (4) skaters and a goalie on the ice at a time.

Team Entries, as the absolute last resort for competitive balance, may be subject to roster adjustments.

Jerseys

As a general rule of thumb home, teams wear light colors, visitors wear dark colors. If your team has two sets of jerseys, we strongly recommend bringing both sets to all tournament games. If a color conflict or dispute arises, the tournament director reserves the right to make the final decision.

Cost

There is a $50 registration fee.

The tournament cost is $700.

There is an early bird discount of $50 if paid in full by January 1.

Tournament Rules

1. All games will be NON-BODY CHECKING.

2. Face-offs will occur at the beginning of each game only.

3. When play is stopped due to the goalie controlling the puck, a whistle will signal the attacking players to leave the zone. The zone will be marked and the team must skate out past this spot. Once all the attackers have exited the zone, the players may re-enter to resume play immediately. They may not challenge the opposition until they have all exited the zone.

4. When a team scores a goal, they must leave the zone immediately and the defending team can bring the puck up the ice. The team that scores a goal cannot come into the zone until the defending team starts to bring the puck up the ice and all the players have exited the zone.

5. There is no center ice (red) line, and therefore no icing or offside passes.

6. All penalties will be served as the offending player leaving the ice for the remainder of that shift and the team to play short handed, only for the remainder of that shift only. Once the player leaves the ice, the defending team can then bring the puck up the ice.

SHIFTS:

1. Player shifts will be one (1) minute and thirty (30) seconds in length. A buzzer will run to signal the end of a shift.

2. Once the buzzer has sounded, players must relinquish control of the puck immediately and vacate the ice. The new players may enter the ice surface immediately.

3. In case of a shortened bench due to injury or ejection(s), at the sound of the buzzer, all players must make contact with the boards near there respective bench area; the doubleshifted player(s) may rejoin the action after having touched the boards. This is only to be done if the team has a short bench. If the team is not short benched, then all players on the ice must exit the ice and new players come out for the next shift.

4. To keep line changes fair, players may not enter the ice until the horn sounds for the line change. If a team does not follow these procedures, a warning will be given. If it is continued, a penalty will be given and a player must sit out the remainder of the shift and the team will play short handed.

5. Players in the bench area are to stay on the bench and not enter the playing surface until the buzzer sounds.

COACHES

1. Up to three (3) coaches, assistants or trainers may be in the bench area. All bench personnel must be rostered.

2. It is the responsibilities of the coaches to expedite the players getting on and off the ice.

3. Any bench personnel having been ejected from the game, for any reason, will be automatically suspended for a minimum of one (1) game and subject to further review for the possible expulsion from the tournament by the tournament organizer.

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR, CONDUCT OR LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

PLAYOFF FORMAT

Please refer to tournament scoreboards or speak to a tournament representative in order to determine playoff format for each individual division. It is incumbent upon the team management to confirm with a tournament representative their final position in the standings and their playoff status before leaving the rink.

"TIE BREAKERS" (TO DETERMINE PLAYOFF TEAMS)

1. "HEAD TO HEAD" COMPETITION. DIRECT PLAY BETWEEN TWO TIED TEAMS.

2. “GOAL DIFFERENTIAL”. THE TEAM WITH THE GREATER GOAL DIFFERENTIAL (GOALS FOR MINUS GOALS AGAINST) WILL ADVANCE. THE MAXIMUM GOAL DIFFERENTIAL ATTAINABLE PER GAME IS SIX.

3. LEAST GOALS AGAINST.

4. COIN TOSS

ANY SCENARIO NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED BY THE ABOVE, WILL THEN BE LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
